The Moto G

An OTA update to Android 5.0 Lollipop has been released for the Moto G. If a user is not familiar with the flashing methods for this update or has made a mistake flashing it, they will find that they will end up with a soft bricked device.

If you soft bricked your Moto G while installing the OTA update, it means that your device is now either running corrupted firmware or no firmware at all. You can tell that it’s a case of softbricking if, when you turn on your device, you see a faint light come on screen. If it’s showing no sign of life, then you’ve hard bricked your device.

In this guide, were going to show you how you can fix a bricked Moto G on Android 5.0 Lollipop. This will also work on a device running other versions below Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Unbrick Moto G:

In the mfastboot folder, open a command prompt.
Put your device into Fastboot mode by pressing and holding down the power key at the same time as both the volume keys

mfastboot flash boot boot.img
mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
mfastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0

mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
mfastboot erase modemst1
mfastboot erase modemst2
mfastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
mfastboot erase cache
mfastboot erase userdata
Mboboot khởi động lại

Reboot device. You might see the screen flickering while booting, don’t panic and just wait for the boot to finish.
When the boot finishes, copy the Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat updateyou downloaded onto your device

Khởi động thiết bị Phục hồi chế độ lại.
Chọn Apply Update from Sdcard.
